From the last slide, I can deuce that the single link bw technology and productivity is innovation. Is this true?

Yes, I think that the single way to take advantage of technological knbowledge to increase productivity is innovation. Innovation is the link bw technology and productivity. However, companies can also profit from innovation without innovating directly themselves. Many companies chose "a follower strategy" and use other's innovations. In this sense, governments, play an important role in terms of fostering the difussion of knowledge from Universities and institutions to the business comunity, as well as establishing fair and clear legislation on Intellectual Property (IP) that protects either, the companies that innovate and the ones that use innovations from others. Finally, we must not forget that many other areas of management have also a key role on fostering productivity. So the relationship technology ->innovation->productivity is clear and important, but to overperfom it will be necessary to excell in all(most) of the business areas.

Thanks for a good and clear introduction of the course!! The only criticism I can come up with is that it was, due to the bright atmosphere in class, hard to read the slides where you writes with black letters on green background!

Thanks for your comment. I had not realized this... may be because I memorize the presentation before the class and do not read much the detail¡ I will take it into account.

Hello this is the first time I use a blog and I have already placed my comment after the wrong lecture. So you are going to find my comments at the last lecture as well.Starting to get the hang of this page now,but still I don`t know if it possible to remove misplaced messages or change a message that is published. It seems like a good way to distribute information and I think it is good that you have given us all the slides for the course, in that way we can prepare before class(sometimes) and you get a better insight on what the course is about.

Well I think that this blog is a very helpful idea when any uncertainty from a lecture develops. In my case, I had doubts about the RFID that you mentioned in class and I think that some other students had the same problem. But I found this website that is helpful for understanding the methodology of this device. If any of you are interested this is it: http://rfid-analysis.org/
Your class seems interesting but there should be a briefcase in this blog with the name of each student, to make it a little more organized.

Thanks for the link, good and curious information about I think will be unusual applications of RFID¡¡¡.

Regarding blogs, I have to say that this is a very innovative and practical way of getting information out to the public, without being a part of mainstream media. But as any other channel of information, opinion, and news, blogs have to be used in a constructive and unbiased way, preserving the integrity of the contents of what is posted on them.
I found a very interesting site that deals with different topics regarding blogs, including the responsibility that carries exposing information through blogs in an accountable manner. The site is http://prblog.typepad.com. I think it is interesting to know to what extent it is possible to use blogs to post information, contemplating the real consequences of this publications, specially since we are using one for the class.

I think that your contribution is interesting Juan Manuel. Technology, in this case blogs, is only the mean we use to communicate. We must adhere to the ethical and legal rules of our society: truthfulness, right use of information, intellectual property rights ....
