Well this is the first time a enter a blog account, I have only read about it, but it seems like a good way to distribute information. I like that you have given us the slides for all the classe, in that way we can prepare before the class and you get a better insight on what the course is about. The only thing that seems a bit unorderd is that there are no folders, that would have given it a more orderly look and easier to get around. Having it all on one page is not very handy.
I don`t have any comments on the class cause it is hard to tell after just one class.

Hi class,
I agree with Asta, this blog seems like a pretty good idea. However it is true that not all the slides are posted and because they are in the same page it takes a long for downloading. So the folder option would be great. On the other hand, I was reading the other day an article about innovations and i liked the following quote: "we often discover what will do, by finding out what will not do; and probably he who never made a mistake never made a discovery." . He was saying that the history of innovation is a long list of failures that eventually led to bigger successes, which is very interesting...And then if you have time go and check this site: http://www.writeonoffice.com/info/his_postit.htm, where you will found how post-it notes were made at first.

Comment to the class discussion we had about intellectual property rights.
Yes, its true that it's hard to make world patents because of the big differences in laws and regulations from country to country. But, as I briefly stated in class, the WIPO has done a lot of effort to standardize laws regarding IPR.
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is an international organization dedicated to promoting the use and protection of works of the human spirit. With headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, WIPO is one of the 16 specialized agencies of the United Nations system of organizations. It administers 23 international treaties dealing with different aspects of intellectual property protection. The Organization counts 179 nations as member states.
All since the end of 19th century the WIPO (before called BIRPI) has worked for an international improvement of IPR (intellectual Property Rights). And the WIPO Copyright Treaty from 1996 and the Patent Law Treaty from 2000 shows that WIPO is the most important role in the work for improving the internationally IPR regime, and it clearly shows that IPR regime are evolving in the right direction.
The statistic shows the same, from four treaties in 1898, WIPO stands today for 23 international treaties.

Several comments on contributions to lecture-2:

1) To Asta Ramberg Comment: Yes, I am of the same opinion. I think that should be possible to distribute class information, and more important to stablish a new communication medium among the participants in a class, which I think that can truly improve the learning experience. However, I also agree with you that there are many details (and not only small details) to improve order, and navigation.

2) To Mariuxi comment: We are only beginners in the use of blogs, but I am sure that during the course we all will improve the appearence and navegability of this blog. Good contribution with the Post-It story. Yes, it conduces to the reflexion of what makes the difference between failure and success....

3) To Gordon Comment: It seems that some companies still work on this idea althogh some have failed as we saw in class... May be know they will profit from the mistake of the first.. This can be a follower strategy?

4) Thanks Laura. Looking at this one realizes how far can arrive human inspiration, creativity and work..

5) To skage comment: Good contribution with IP, on which we did not devote may be enough time on class. I recommend to visit the link. From the broad information that provides the site, I selected this definition of the role of patents:

"Patents are not only to provide incentives to individuals by ensuring recognition of their work, they also help to enrich the total body of technological knowledge in the world. Patent owners are obliged to disclose information on their inventions; this provides valuable information for other inventors; as well as inspiration for future generations of research investigators, which leads to future innovation..."

To Daniela: thanks I am happy you like it.

To Laura: AS we commented on class I will resend the invitations. I recommend to try again to register..
Referring to pictures the blog help explains how to post pictures by using Hello, I am doing it and it si not complicated.

Nice weekend ¡¡¡¡
